Spectacled caimans mating season is in April and May. When they are ready to mate, spectacled caimans produce roaring sounds, rub each other’s backs and snouts, and circulate around potential partners.
Caimans, alligators, and crocodiles are the largest living reptiles in the world. Caiman is the smallest of these three. They can only reach up to 8 feet in length and up to 88 lbs. in weight
Female lays 20-40 eggs on a rotting vegetation and soil. Decaying vegetation releases eggs which keeps the egg warm. Eggs incubated at a temperature above 32 degrees Celsius will produce female spectacled caiman, and below 29 degrees Celsius will produce male.
